Entrants must be legal residents of the United States and be employed as a full-time public or private pre-K teacher, K-12 teacher, school librarian, or public librarian in the continental United States during the 2009-2010 school year.

Eligibility requirements will be verified prior to delivery of prize to the school or library. Under no circumstances will the computers be delivered to any other location.

About the Computers

Winners will be presented with an iMac computer with hand-illustrated custom applied shell, individually created by a Playnormous artist. Each will be a one-of-a-kind piece, complete with Intel Dual-core processor, built in iSight camera, Apple remote, keyboard, and mouse. Original artwork themes will be based on Playnormous monsters and will be appropriate for K-12 classrooms and libraries. These refurbished computers were briefly used in an obesity research project and are awaiting a new home.

Winners

Winners will be awarded computers throughout the 2009-2010 school year. Playnormous will attempt to contact winners by email or phone. If the winner fails to respond within fourteen (14) days of initial notification, if the notification is returned as non-deliverable, or the winner is found to ineligible or not in compliance with the Official Rules, the winner will be disqualified. All rights to any giveaway prize(s) are forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected and notified.

Upon acceptance of the prize, Monster iMacs become the property and responsibility of the awardee. Playnormous is not responsible for any damage due to shipping, manufacturing, or other events in which the computer prizes are rendered inoperable or imperfect in any way. Prizes are accepted “as is” and no technical support will be offered by Playnormous or its staff.

By entering the Giveaway, entrants agree to the Official Rules of the contest. It is a story-based competition for current public and private pre-K teachers, K-12 teachers, school librarians, and public librarians in the continental United States who use Playnormous health games. Over the course of the 2009-2010 school year, Playnormous will award, free of charge, up to twenty winners. Judging will begin on September 14, 2009 and will conclude on May 17, 2010.

Teachers, school librarians, and public librarians will each be allowed to submit only one entry in the media format of their choice. Your Playnormous Story must must answer one or more of the following questions:

1. How are Playnormous games used in your classroom or library?
2. Which one of our health games is your favorite and why?
3. Why should you be selected to win a free Monster iMac?
4. How have Playnormous games impacted you, your classroom, or your library?

All submissions must be in PDF or URL format ONLY. For private or password-protected websites, blogs, or other media, please submit a PDF of your online entry. Teachers and librarians can choose to enter their Playnormous Story through ONE of a variety of media types:

1. An original essay that is LESS THAN 500 words.
2. A class or teacher blog post.
3. Top 3 student blog posts.
4. Class or teacher webpage.
5. Other media such as online YouTube video or online SlideShare presentation.

By entering the contest, you are giving us permission to publish your Playnormous Story on the Playnormous website or in other promotional materials issued by Playnormous or Archimage, its parent company. By entering the contest, you certify that you have the legal authority to grant these rights.

Judging of Entries
The judging panel will consist of researchers, clinicians, health game experts, and Playnormous staff members. Entries will be judged based on game use, creativity, story and overall entry. We want to know what you like about our games and how our games have successfully made an impact on improving students' health knowledge, physical well-being, and attitude towards eating well and exercising. All entries will remain in consideration throughout the duration of the giveaway.

Rights and Releases
Playnormous reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Giveaway. Playnormous reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest or be acting in violation of these Official Rules. By entering the Giveaway, the winner agrees that Playnormous and Archimage, its affiliates, agents, and employees, are not liable for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any giveaway prize. No purchase is necessary to enter this contest.
