Monstrous thanks. The Playnormous team and all of our monsters wish you and your monster family a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving this year! May your day be full of turkey, mashed potatoes and pie…and of course some fruit, vegetables, and physical activity.
The Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) just released their annual study results on America’s Consumption of Fruits and Vegetables called “State of the Plate.” This thing is chocked full of interesting statistics. Did you know that the average person consumes 400 cups of vegetables and 250 cups of fruit each year? Did you know that 25% of vegetables eaten each year are grown from home? Who knew!

One part of the study that I found to be particularly interesting was their in-depth look at when we’re eating those cups and cups of fruit and veggies. The average American eats 66% of their vegetables at dinner. I kind of expected that. What I didn’t expect was 44% of fruit is eaten at breakfast. I always assumed people just ate a bunch of cereal if anything at all for breakfast.
Go banana! Go strawberry! Go 100% orange juice! Go breakfast!
