Mark your calendars!  The Playnormous team will be at the Children’s Museum of Houston on Saturday January 9, 2010 to celebrate Family Fit Week and the official launch of Playnormous games in the PowerPlay exhibit.  Come play health games on our cool Monster iMacs and try your hand at a game of Lunch Crunch Cards with the staff.  Every kid will walk away with a fun prize like a Playnormous t-shirt, sticker, lunch box or balloon.  Oh yeah, and one SUPER LUCKY kid will win a FREE Monster iMac too!  AWESOME!

We are so excited about this event we can hardly wait.  Come visit us to see what Playnormous is all about.  We will be at the Children’s Museum of Houston (1500 Binz, Houston, TX 77004 — click here for directions) on Saturday January 9, 2010 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

About the Children’s Museum of Houston.

Founded in 1980, the Children’s Museum of Houston is the highest-attended youth museum in the country.  The mission of this award-winning museum is to transform communities through innovative, child-centered learning.  CMH offers several action-packed exhibits including the new PowerPlay exhibit.  At the PowerPlay exhibit you can challenge your body to a three-story adventure where you can climb walls, test your grip, play huge dance games, and track your heart rate with a cool activity log system.  Take a breather by visiting the PowerScience Lab activity room where you can explore the science behind health by playing Playnormous health games and talking to Baylor College of Medicine graduate students.  Check out this video about the PowerPlay exhibit for more details.  We hope to see you there!

Great Giza!chompywins

It’s been over a year since our last health game release. That’s just way too long!  But don’t fret, we have a brand spankin’ new game up and running just in time for the holidays.  Play Pyramid Pile Up, a strategy nutrition game designed to teach you all about the food groups.  Learn what foods go in which categories, the benefits of whole grain and low fat, and what discretionary calories are.

Chomp down the competition.

Unlike all other Playnormous games, Pyramid Pile Up is not a timed game.  That means it’s all about strategy, kind of like a game of chess if you will, in which you have a limited number of moves to fill your pyramid with the correct foods.  Who’s your opponent?  Why the Chompy brothers of course!  They’re hungry, flying squirrel monsters that are determined to gobble up every food tile in sight.  If one makes it to the bottom of the pyramid before you squish it, Chompy wins.

Try your best food stacking strategy today by playing Pyramid Pile Up, available only on Playnormous.com.

A year to remember. moty3

Every year members of the American Marketing Association vote for who they deem the best marketers of the year.  And 2009 is no exception.  There are 196 companies, organizations and institutions nominated this year in 40 categories.  What’s so special about this year?  Playnormous is a nominee for the 2009 Marketer of The Year!

We are honored and completely speechless to be listed among amazing companies like the Children’s Museum of Houston, Rice University, Shell Oil, Carraba’s, Houston Rockets and Buc-ee’s.  What a line up!

Best in show.

Playnormous will be competing for a best-in-category spot (Education: Elementary / Secondary) as well as the coveted Marketer of the Year award.  Winners will be announced at a reception on March 15, 2010 so we will be crossing our fingers, toes, legs, you name it until that day. Thanks to all of those who nominated Playnormous for a chance to win this amazing award.  Just being nominated is an unbelievable honor.

If you’re a Houston AMA member, don’t forget to cast your vote by December 18!
